Destinee and her mother Deidre started their company in early Covid, when they had a little extra time to turn their passion into action. Having grown up reading, Destinee noticed that there weren’t any book shops in her home neighborhood of Harlem, and has always wanted to bring that sense of community and culture to the area, with a focus on featuring Black authors, so that future generations will experience a love of reading as well.
